Missions 2010 review

on . Posted in General News & Announcements

As 2010 is closed, we have been working on our 2011 schedule.

During 2010 due to the very publicized danger posed in the areas we serve we cancelled a majority of our missions. The Some of the groups we have partnered with  recently did travel and complete missions. Disaster Northwest Response began and has built a great partnership within Haiti and has established a Ambulance and treatment center  in the country. Initially we assisted with medical equipment along with outfitting those responding with safety gear. Several of our instructors participated in the missions and today they have achieved their own 501c3 status and are operating a ems system and training the next generation of emergency workers in Haiti. We continue to support and encourage their efforts.

Also in 2010 our Team lead in Culiacan through a tragedy suffered by a friend who lost a spouse while vacationing in Southern Mexico near Puerto Vallarta was pivitol in establishing a foundation to bring EMS and clinic services to a small community area. The Zack Foundation focuses on developing emergency services and public education in the towns of Sayulita and San Pancho in the State of Nayarit , Mexico.

To date they have been down several times and have established training and response programs through local physicians and expatriats who live in the region. We are currently working on an International Rotary connection to aid in transporting equipment and instructors through out our participating groups and cities.
