About Nayarit

FF1flipped 110pixsMuch of Firefighters Crossing Borders efforts have been focused in the southern area of the State of Nayarit.

The first mission was in 2010 in support of the Zachary Chambers Foundations efforts to improve emergency services in the small village of Sayulita, part of the Municipality of Bahia de Banderas.

Later that year, we established an onsite regional representative who had been working with the areas firefighters sense 2008. With support from a newly elected Municipal President and assistance from community groups the Bahia Fire EMS Project has resulted in the opening of new fire stations, improved equipment, and better firefighter training.

Fire departments from other areas in the State have also received training and equipment donations.

Nayarit Bomberos receive Equipment

on . Posted in Nayarit

FFCBs members worked tirelessly to collect, check, and ship good used equipment to our brothers and sister in the State of Nayarit, Mexico..

Working with State government officials, we successfully imported the equipment through the In-Kind donation process.  A Fund raising event was held in Bahia de Banderas to help support shipping cost from the border at Nogales.

Our friends in the Nogales Mexico fire department were very helpful in assisting with the process.   Some of this shipment was donated to them in appreciation for their ongoing support.

The State and  Municipal governments changed in 2017 which resulted the appointment of new Directors of Civil Protection y Bomberos for these governments.   We’re developing strong working relations with the new officials are in the process of planning joint training events with them.

Thanks to all those who had a part in making this donation possible!

Enjoy the slide show which shows the many locations in Nayarit assisted by this donation.
