Ayutla Engine Nears Ready |

We have worked hard over the past year to bring the Western States engine purchased for Ayutla into Pump ready status. Crime Stoppers of Tacoma has arranged for the engine to be shipped to Ayutla mid September. September 6 in Gig Harbor you can see us and the other partners in the Ayutla project with the new batch of apparatus heading south to Ayutla and El Gruilo at the 2nd annual Bash For Gas.

As of the 20th of Feb, the first members of the joint training team are on the ground and setting up for the training of the Ayutla firefighters. Over the next several days the remaining instructors will arrive and get the job done.

Planning for Mission to Ayutla in February of 2008 |

Planning is underway for our part in the next phase of the start up FD in Ayutla, Mexico. Anyone who is interested to participate can contact us through our website or attend a informational meeting at Station 5-1 at 1000 on the 24th of November, 2007 in Gig Harbor, Washington. Either way we are looking at building a team of 10 instructors to provide Ayutla its first fire academy. The trip is scheduled to be in Feb thru early march and more details will be made available to those interested.
This mission is being led by Battalion Chief Paul Wright from Kent, Wa and will be a blast. If interested contact us asap and we can give you the next step info. Hope all are having a good thanksgiving and stay safe. |
