With more contacts being made throughout the country we are looking for transport options. We need contacts to be able to ship equipment or apparatus to where needed. Any help would be appreciated.
We are also working to find contacts around the country of those like us who have a mission to help emergency workers throughout the world. If we can put a donation with one of our contacts we have achieved our goal to get equipment and training to those who need.
SCBA's
Air paks are being donated and more are needed. We are training two members to service them making them in like new condition. We will take any paks that Fire departments are replacing.
To support the air trailer(s) we have delivered, combined with the dire need to put more packs in service, we are always looking for support in acquiring low pressure air packs and bottles.
We are in dire need of a 5000 psi filling regulator. Our next Trailer project is slated for Culiacan, Mexico
Annual Hydro of air bottles
Although the safety standards in Mexico are not as stringent as ours, we believe that keeping air bottles in hydro is a primary safety concern. We have arranged to have 10 of their air bottles hydroded for free each year. In addition we will be arranging hydro service for the larger air trailer bottles on a rotating basis.
On The Horizon
Our mission to Culiacan is shapping up. We have a committment from FF Steve Ness from Snohomish County, Wa who has put together a team of instructors to provide a one week ladder ops academy in November 2008. Currently a 1990 pierce Tele-squirt is being transported to Culiacan. Donated by our friends in Turlock, Ca, Chief Roger Dooley who initiated the donation has worked hard to make this happen. With the 100ft aerial in 2006 and this appartus the Ladder ops training is going to be exceptional. Look for updates.
In Feb of 2008 we teamed up with Tapfire.org, and Pierce Co crime stoppers to deliver training in El Gruilo, Mx near Guadalajara. We continue to coordinate with these groups to work with departments in the region.
We hope to bring two more firefighters up to Washington for another Rescue systems 1 course. And are working on two slots in Gig Harbor, Wa Fire Departments immensly popular CRUNCH TIME extrication workshop in Sept.
As stated, our next trip is scheduled for November 2008 where we will send a group to Culiacan. We are busy working on 2009s spring trip to Baja. We are always looking for interested persons to join us. Our needs are enterpreters and specialist in all area of our profession.
On August 18, 2008, Hurst inc. (www.jawsoflife.com) announced our new partnership enabling F.F.C.B to continue its mission of bringing equipment to needing rescue organizations outside the United States. Through a new promotion, Hurst will be donating older extrication tools to our organization for distribution to Mexico and where ever units and needs can be matched. As we work on shipping and other logistics, we are working on developing a training plan to educate those receiving this eqiupment. Using our experience in Baja, Mexico we will intigrate the tools safely into the communities we serve.
We currently have received several AEDs and are looking at the promise of several more. We are working on bringing AED training to Baja and hope to make it part of our next mission.
We are beginning the planning for our next Baja trip in spring 2009. The Training, modeled after the H.O.T classes seen at many US Fire and rescue conferences will be evolution-based fire, medical and rescue training programs and a training burn is possibly in the works. Building on this past years mission we are working to unite the many departments in the region to participate jointly in the training. We will also be training and distributing a number of Rescue tools that we anticipate receiving from Hurst Inc.
